The capital of the most populous country in the world doubles as an excellent travel destination for those seeking a true cultural experience. Beijing is China's second largest city, after Shanghai, and offers a wealth of great food, entertainment, and attractions. Book your trip to Beijing with EscapeWizard.com to experience one of China's most visited cities!

The busy Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) is located to the northeast of the city center. Three main terminals service air transportation for the city, and much of it is rather new construction thanks to rapid expansion to prepare for the city to host the 2008 Olympic summer games. Book your flight into Beijing with EscapeWizard.com by visiting (www.escapewizard.com/flight.php) to take advantage of our low rates on airfare. You can also book your hotel with us by clicking (www.escapewizard.com/hotels.php?flag=htl) to select your preferred accommodations.

Beijing is comprised of many districts. The central districts are Xicheng, Dongcheng, Xuanwu, and Chongwen. These districts are likely to provide the greatest options for dining and entertainment.

The Xicheng district includes Beihai Park, the Beijing Zoo, and National Concert Hall. EscapeWizard.com recommends a visit to the zoo, where you can see over 7,000 animals of 600 different species. You'll surely want to see the giant panda, red-crowned crane, and the Pere David's deer, as these animals are unique to the country.

The district of Dongcheng also includes some worthwhile attractions. The Forbidden City is located here, which was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty through the Qing Dynasty. Today it serves as the Palace Museum, and EscapeWizard.com encourages you to tour this important historical hub. Tiananmen Square and Beijing Central Station are two other notable venues within Dongcheng.

Next, we have the Xuanwu district. Xuanwu does not have any of Beijing's truly important historical sites, but it does have a number of parks and temples that may be worth a visit if your time in the city allows for it.

EscapeWizard.com knows that the Chongwen district houses the Temple of Heaven. The temple is architecturally beautiful, and houses many ancient trees. Thanks to this, the temple is often considered the greenest place in Beijing. You can also visit the Beijing Museum of Natural History here in Chongwen, as well as the Red Gate Gallery for a taste of contemporary Chinese art.

Other districts still considered to be within the inner suburbs of Beijing include Shijingshan, Haidian, Chaoyang, and Fengtai. Shijingshan includes notable venues like the Fahai Temple, Tianyi's Tomb, and the Shijinshan Amusement Park, which EscapeWizard.com recommends if you're looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon.

The Haidian district houses the Summer Palace and the Beijing Botanical Gardens. This green district is an excellent getaway if you find yourself tiring of the city hustle and bustle during your vacation.

Chaoyang is a very large district, and was the site of the majority of the Olympic venues. EscapeWizard.com also encourages you to visit the Dongyue Temple located within the district, and Beijing's largest park, Chaoyang Park.

Finally, we have the Fengtai district. This district is home to the Lugou Bridge, World Park, and the Dabaotai Western Hans Tombs Museum. EscapeWizard.com recommends observing the Beijing West Railway station, a rather impressive and active venue.

For an unforgettable vacation in a foreign land, book your travel arrangements through EscapeWizard.com and visit the exciting city of Beijing. We're certain you'll be telling your friends about this one for years to come!
