If your upcoming German travels should include a rich cultural scene, amazing architecture, and a city that knows how to have a good time, look no further than Munich! This well-loved city is Germany's third most populous, and is a highly favored tourist destination, partially in thanks to the famous Oktoberfest annual beer celebration. Book your own Munich vacation through EscapeWizard.com to experience why this city is often touted as the country's favorite.

As with many large cities, Munich is organized into a variety of districts. The city center is comprised of Marienplatz, Isartor, Karlsplatz, and Odeonsplatz. Munich's center is a popular tourist hangout, with excellent shopping and fantastic architecture. Portions of the old wall are still visible in spots, as well as the old city gates.

The districts of Schwabing and Maxvorstadt are known as the University area. Commonplace with higher education surroundings, you'll find an abundance of coffee shops, bookstores, and beautifully tree-lined streets. Keep this area in mind for when hunger strikes, too, as EscapeWizard.com knows that the district is full of specialty restaurants featuring delicious international flavors.

You'll want to be sure and visit the Olympia Einkaufzentrum, or Olympic area, where the 1972 Olympic Games were held. EscapeWizard.com urges you to climb some of the hills created from World War II debris, or ride to the top of the Olympic Tower for unparalleled views of Munich.

When the sun goes down, venture to the district known as Haidhausen, well-known for its bustling nightlife. Kultfabrik is particularly an active clubbing area, with more than 30 bars, restaurants, and clubs between this and neighboring Optimolwerke. EscapeWizard.com reminds you to enjoy the Munich nightlife responsibly! This area is also a great place to visit if you enjoy strolling quiet side streets and seeing houses still standing, often unchanged, from hundreds of years prior.

If you're looking for a quiet place to spend an afternoon in Munich, wander over to the Neuhausen and Nymphenburg district. The former is home to the world's largest beer garden, and both areas are packed with excellent restaurants. Best of all, this district is relatively free of heavy tourism, and EscapeWizard.com shares this with you because we know that sometimes during a vacation, a traveler just wants to unwind a bit.

Finally, visit the district of Thalkirchen, which lies along the banks of the Isar River and serves as a local recreational area. EscapeWizard.com also encourages a visit to the Hellbrunn Zoo while you're here. If you're visiting Munich during warmer months, don't be surprised if you see some bonfires lit along the Flaucher, or the sandbanks of the river.

EscapeWizard.com couldn't offer an article about Munich without giving up some must-see suggestions. As mentioned, the city is renowned for its culture, so museums are rather plentiful here. Check out the BMW Museum, the City Museum of Munich, the Deutsches Museum, and the National Bavarian Museum; just to name a few. It also goes without saying that if you're traveling to Munich in the fall, October in particular, be prepared for Oktoberfest. If you wish to join in the festivities you're sure to have a blast; but if you're not a fan of large crowds and copious amounts of intoxication, you may wish to reschedule your visit.

Munich is one of those remarkable destinations that promise to offer something for everyone, making this city a truly unforgettable European experience. Book your travels through EscapeWizard.com and come relive a little history in a way that only Munich can provide.
