The slogan of New Orleans is Laissez Les Bons Temps Roule.  EscpapeWizard.com’s guide to the Crescent City will show how to let the good times roll during your next vacation to this beautiful city. Although known best for Mardi Gras, a visit any time of the year will be full of food, drink, music and shenanigans. Summer is actually the slow season, by number of visitors and the pace of the city, because it is very hot and humid. If you don’t mind the heat to save some money, then take a summer vacation. Otherwise, stray from New Orleans during those summer months and come during spring or fall.

EspcapeWizard.com invites you to book your next vacation to the Big Easy. The local airport is the Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY), aptly named for the city’s hero of jazz. Book your flight today with EscapeWizard.com by following this link (www.escapewizard.com/flight.php). Check out the listing of the top hotels in the New Orleans area. Our number one selection for high quality service is the Crowne Plaza. To book your hotel with EscapeWizard.com just click here (www.escapewizard.com/hotels.php?flag=htl).

The area of the city most frequented by tourists is the French Quarter. This historic area of the city was basically untouched by hurricane Katrina. Jackson Square and the Cathedral-Basilica of St. Louis King of France look exactly the same as they always have for years. This area is the location of local artists, tarot card readers, mule-drawn carriages and music events. EscapeWizard.com suggests checking the events calendar before booking your trip. There is a festival almost every weekend in New Orleans and you wouldn’t want to miss out!

Another famous French Quarter location is Bourbon Street.  Known for beads and booze, this street is covered with tourists chugging specialty drinks and dancing to music streaming out of clubs. Make sure to try a Hand Grenade and Hurricane before leaving.  Pick up a drink to go and walk down the street, something you can only do in one other American city.

Beside the French Quarter is Frenchmen Street, a place where locals and tourists alike listen to some of the best music in the city. EscapeWizard.com recommends trying to get a taste of all of the local music, including jazz, brass bands, blues and zydeco. Any spot on Frenchmen, cover charge or none, will prove that New Orleans is a place to let the good times roll.

New Orleans is also the home to many excellent museums, and EscapeWizard.com recommends a trip to the Museum District of the city. The most notable, and our top selection, would undoubtedly be the National World War II Museum. This museum is so notable because it has exhibits in remembrance of every “D-Day” landing site that took place over the course of World War II. Go to http://www.nationalww2museum.org/ to find out more information to help plan your visit. EscapeWizard.com’s second selection for a must see museum in New Orleans is the Civil War Museum at Confederate Memorial Hall. This museum has been in existence since 1891, and is home to a large collection of Confederate artifacts. This is the perfect museum for anyone looking to learn about the history about the War Between the States. Visit http://www.confederatemuseum.com/index.html to find out more information to help plan your trip. Other museums of interest in the city are the Louisiana Children’s Museum, Louisiana State Museum, Contemporary Arts Center and many others.

Of course another New Orleans specialty is food. To try Creole cuisine, EscapeWizard.com suggests visiting Commander’s Palace in the Garden District. An easy cab ride away from the French Quarter, Commander’s Palace has Creole specialties, such as Turtle Soup and Creole Bread Pudding Souffle.  Stop by during the week for lunch and get 25 cent martinis and a great lunch deal. Nothing can stop the love of Seafood in the Big Easy. EscapeWizard.com suggests the local shrimp, crawfish, oysters and crab that grace every New Orleans menu. During Crawfish season, February to June, try to find a Crawfish Boil at a local bar for some down-home, fresh, crawfish.

EscapeWizard.com knows that New Orleans is just the vacation destination to relax, learn some of our nation’s history, and enjoy some fantastic meals. So, Laissez Les Bons Temps Roule and let EscapeWizard.com help plan your next vacation to the Big Easy.
