Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is known as the Steel City, the City of Bridges, and the City of Champions. Early accounts of the area boast the arrival and military action of a then Major George Washington of the British Army. Pittsburge was also the heart and soul of the American Steel Industry for over 100 years. After the bust of the steel industry, Pittsburgh turned its efforts and economy to education, healthcare, technology, robotics, and the financial industries.

EscapeWizard.com asks you to consider a visit to this great city. You can arrive in Pittsburgh via the Pittsburge International Airport (PIT) which lies 10 miles west of the city. Booking a flight into this airport is easy with EscapeWizard.com. We ask that you follow the link (www.escapewizard.com/flight.php). In order to make your pre-flight checklist that much easier to complete, we at EscapeWizard.com ask that you consider our recommendations for lodging. Then, you can book by visiting the link to our hotel page at (www.escapewizard.com/hotels.php?flag=htl).

Pittsburgh is a city that has what you are looking for in an outstanding vacation destination. EscapeWizard.com recognizes that this city is rich in art and culture. If it is opera that you are looking for, you can visit the Benedum Center to take in the Pittsburgh Opera. If you like the orchestra, you can visit Heinz Hall to hear the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

Pittsbugh also offers a plethora of museums, eleven in all. If it is a one of a kind experience that you are looking for, EscapeWizard.com recommends that you visit the Andy Warhol Museum. Pittsburgh also offers 6 Art Centers and Galleries. Quarterly in the CUltural District there is a "Gallery Crawl" that covers the art venues which is open to the public and free. If you are traveling with your kids or grandkids, EscapeWizard.com recommends that you tak in the Carnegie Science Center. The Center is technology based and offers hands on learning for children.

Adding to the list of sites in Pittsburgh are twelve Theater companies, the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, the multicultural Strip District, a Casino, two inclined Railways, 446 bridges, 6 professional sports teams, and 151 high rise buildings of differing architectural style.

To all travelers visiting Pittsburgh, EscapeWizard.com suggests that you visit the Duquesne Incline. The Incline is one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. Once aboard the train car will scale Mount Washington (400 ft. in elevation, 800 ft. in length of track) to an observation deck. There are spectacular views of the city from atop Mount Washington.

The next stop on EscapeWizar.com's list is PPG Place. This complex rests upon 5.5 acres and is nestled neatly into downtown. It is a truly magnificent complex in which the buildings are all of a matching design and covered in glass. The plaza at PPG Place is open to the public and the scenery changes with the seasons. During the warmer months of the year, the center of the plaza is a giant water feature that is built around a granite obelisk. In the winter months the center of the plaza is transformed into an ice skating rink with a 60 ft. Christmas tree in its center.

Our final destination is the Cathedral of Learning, which is located in the section of the city known as Oakland. The building is overlaid with Indiana limestone and renders the Late Gothic Style. This building is the crown jewel aboard the University of Pittsburgh Campus. As if the views from outside of this structure weren't great enough, the interior, I dare say, is grander. Every inch of this building is truly a thing of beauty.

EscapeWizard.com believes that Pittsburgh is an amazing city which has something to offer to every member of the family and at an affordable rate.
