The city of Colorado Springs, Colorado has a rich history filled with adventure. It began in 1806 when Zebulon Pike discovered a nearby mountain and named it Pikes Peak. There were 3 Indian tribes fighting over possession of the nearby Garden of the Gods land calling it a “sacred ground” that could be used for peace talks. Later, a city sprang up after the Gold rush and became Colorado Springs. Today, the city sits nestled in the mountains of Colorado. invites you to book your next holiday to Colorado Springs through them. There are many things to see and do around Colorado Springs, Colorado. One of the most beautiful sights is Garden of the Gods. It is accessed by a short drive; you can get out and walk around or drive through the park. The best part is that it is not way out of town; it is easy to get to.  Admission is free, so it’s easy on your budget.  There are large red sandstone formations all throughout the park that are awe-inspiring to see. You can see breathtaking views of both Pikes Peak and the city. It is a nice peaceful place to explore. Let the kids run around and see all the rock formations.

Another wonderful place to visit is Pikes Peak. It is the 2nd most visited mountain in the world coming in after Mt. Fuji. It is a short drive to the top or you can take advantage of hiking trails.  Just do not get stranded and call for help as it will cost you anywhere from $20 up to $500 if you have to get a park worker out of bed to come help you at night. There is a camp where you can stay overnight so it’s better to stay there than to need help. The mountain is also accessible by a cog railway known as the Pikes Peak Cog Railway. It is the highest cog train in the world and also has the distinction of being the highest cog railway in the Northern Hemisphere as well.  Pikes Peak with its beautiful views (take a jacket though; it gets very cold!) is well worth the time to explore. Just be advised you may have trouble breathing so take it easy at the top. A large shop is available for buying souvenirs to take back home.

Another great place to visit in Colorado Springs is the Seven Falls area. This is such a beautiful place to visit. You not only see the falls, but there are many photogenic areas to take photos of wildlife or your family. It is well worth the time to see this place. In the summer, Native American dancers will entertain you. At night, there is a computerized lighting system that lights up the Falls for your enjoyment.  This is known as the Grandest Mile of Scenery in Colorado, and it includes an elevator built into the mountain.

From Irish pubs to steakhouses with live music, there is just a little bit of everything.
